A100 Manipulator

Three components, one ergonomic system: the A100

The A100 is a high-precision mechanical manipulator that follows the operator's natural hand movements exactly. The operating arm, working arm and wall bushing work together precisely and ensure safe handling in protected areas, even in medium and large hot cells.

The A100 is installed in radiation protection walls of medium and large concrete-shielded hot cells, for example in:

  • Research facilities
  • Waste treatment plants
  • Vitrification plants
  • Fuel production plants

A100 Manipulator advantages

Diversity through modularity

The operating arm, working arm and wall bushing are all compatible with A100 manipulators. This means that you can replace the operating arm or working arm with other variants, e.g. other lengths, as required. The wall bushing is not affected by this. We therefore offer you maximum flexibility with maximum safety.

The A100 is available as a single or double telescopic manipulator. This means you can also reach remote work areas.

The A100 components in the hot cell, such as grippers, gripper jaws or additional tools, can be replaced remotely. Even when using protective covers („bootings“).

The advantages for you:

  • You save time when changing and/or repairing and thus increase efficiency
  • Minimized spare parts inventory ensures lower costs/effort
  • Fast handling and therefore minimized loss of time and more productivity
Fast maintenance
The working arm, operating arm and through-wall tube can be separated quickly and safely, which reduces maintenance times.
Large range
As a single or double telescopic manipulator, the working range can be extended up to 5 m.
Low effort A110

Questions and answers A100 Manipulator

A100 Manipulator in action: these customers are convinced

What enhancements make the A110 special?

Building on the strengths of the A100, the A110 impresses with additional functions that make working even safer and more comfortable. The force reflection gives the operator a precise, controlled feeling at all times during all work movements. The fully balanced manipulator with dynamic weight compensation noticeably reduces strain and enables comfortable, virtually fatigue-free working.

Are the operating arm, feed-through and working arm compatible?

Yes, the operating arm, working arm and wall bushing are all compatible with the A100. There are numerous options for exchanging arms, gripper jaws, tools, adapters or load hooks as required. Modularity: this is what sets the A100 apart.

Why can the operating arm be quickly separated from the bushing?

The cold arm is attached to the through-wall tube with four screws. All counterweights and electric drives as well as their electrical control elements are attached to the cold arm outside the cell and are easily accessible. This makes it easier to repair the appliance if necessary.

Is the A100 resistant to radiation?

Yes, the Wälischmiller Engineering Manipulator System HWM A100 is designed for special operating conditions. Radiation-resistant, acid-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials are used here. Only first-class materials are used after they have undergone a high-quality surface treatment.
