Power manipulator A1000 Advantages

Modular design for maximum flexibility and precision

The A1000 offers maximum flexibility thanks to its modular design and can therefore be used universally. The optimized movement ranges make it possible to reach any point in the specified working area, while stepless movements ensure maximum precision. The size and performance of the A1000 can be individually adapted to specific operating conditions, and the system can be optimally tailored to different requirements thanks to a wide range of expansion options. The durable and virtually maintenance-free design reduces time and costs, while electric drives in the arms and the remote-controlled change of arm elements increase the availability of the system and minimize downtimes.

Flexible and versatile usability thanks to modularity

The A1000 offers maximum flexibility thanks to the infinite rotation of its various axes and can be used universally - on gantry cranes, on the ground, on vehicles, on excavators or on walls. Optimized movement ranges make it possible to reach any point in the specified working area, while stepless movements guarantee maximum precision. The size and performance of the A1000 can be individually adapted to specific operating conditions, and the system can be optimally tailored to different requirements thanks to a wide range of expansion options. The durable and virtually maintenance-free design saves time and money, while electric drives in the arms and the option of remote-controlled changing of the arm elements offer additional operating convenience.

Movements and control

All movements are electrically driven. The movements are controlled by a PLC control system or, if required, by a computer control system.

An ergonomic transportable control panel enables intuitive operation by arranging the required switching, control and display instruments on the control panel in the form of a manipulator. The speeds and forces of the movements can be infinitely adjusted.

Easy to maintain

The Wälischmiller Engineering power manipulator system HWM A1000 is designed to be particularly easy to maintain in view of its areas of application. Its special design prevents damage to electrical cables and makes decontamination easier. The force manipulator is also easy to decontaminate thanks to its smooth surfaces and sealed components.

Material quality for the highest demands

Each component is dimensioned according to the requirements. Only optimum materials are used, which are resistant to corrosion and radiation and have protected surfaces depending on the ambient conditions.

The Wälischmiller Engineering HWM A1000 force manipulator system is designed for a long service life, and some units have been in use for over forty years. Our many years of experience and continuous development ensure the quality of our products well into the future.

Quality documentation

Special inspection procedures during material receipt ensure consistently high quality. Quality is maintained through inspections conducted throughout the manufacturing process until the customer performs the acceptance test. The quality assurance measures taken can be traced in the respective documentation for each device upon request.

Questions and answers power manipulator A1000

Your Questions About the A1000 Force Manipulator—Our Answers

Can the A1000 be programmed (robotic function)?

Yes - the A1000S is a programmable robot. With six degrees of freedom and true Cartesian control, it takes over complex processes fully automatically: Teach-&-Playback in GoTo mode, precise positioning movements, coordinated axis movements. Force limiting and collision detection protect the system and tool - even with heavy loads in high-radiation zones. The A1000S is designed for demanding environmental conditions: with resistant materials, easily decontaminated surfaces and a maintenance-optimized design with remotely replaceable modules. A powerful force manipulator that not only executes movements, but is also precisely reproducible, programmable and reliable in continuous operation.

Can the A1000 work underwater?

Yes, the A1000 has already been successfully used under water. For this application, the axles are equipped with special sealing systems that prevent the ingress of water and ensure the functionality of the mechanical and electrical components. The design takes into account both static water pressure and the long-term resistance of the seals.

Why electrics and not hydraulics?

There are several technical and safety-related reasons for using electric drive technology: 1. Prevention of contamination: In the nuclear industry, any form of fluid loss is critical. Hydraulic systems use pressurized oil—a leak would lead to contamination and require extensive decontamination measures. Electric systems completely eliminate this risk. 2. Criticality and safety considerations: In nuclear applications, water can affect criticality. A system that does not introduce additional fluids, such as hydraulic oil, significantly reduces the safety risk. 3. Greater precision: Electric drives (e.g., servo motors) enable significantly more precise positioning than hydraulic systems, as there is no compressibility of the medium and no pressure-induced give. This results in better repeatability, controlled dynamics, and stable controllability. 4. Maintenance and Long-Term Operation: Electric systems generally require less maintenance, are cleaner, and are easier to monitor than hydraulic units.
