Wälischmiller UK has developed the Model-9 telemanipulator for use in nuclear laboratories. It is the solution to the problem of protecting technicians from particularly hazardous substances. This is important, for example, during research, post-irradiation examinations or waste disposal.

The Model-9 telemanipulator enables the precise and safe execution of complex handling and processing tasks in hazardous or contaminated environments by physically separating the operator from the work area while ensuring high sensitivity, process control and reproducibility.
Proven remote handling and manipulator systems for the nuclear industry, decommissioning, nuclear medicine and research - with proven reliability and ALARA-oriented design. We supply engineering through to service and maintenance from a single source: sophisticated engineering down to the smallest detail, clear interfaces (mechanical/electrical/control) and lifecycle support with spare parts for 30+ years. The result: plannable projects, excellent products and short distances to your technical contact.
Analysis & consulting Joint clarification of the requirements, operating conditions and technical framework parameters for your application.
Concept & construction Development of a customized Model-9 solution including layout, interfaces and functional design.
Production & commissioning Precise production, acceptance and professional installation and commissioning of the Model-9 on site.
Using a system of stainless steel bands and cables, the operator arm (also known as the hot arm) can mimic all the movements of the working arm (also known as the cold arm). This design principle allows the operator in nuclear laboratories to perform super-precise tasks safely and easily. The Model-9 telemanipulator is basically a manually operated machine with electric actuators that allow side-to-side and back-and-forth movement of the hot arm to the cold arm. These movements are controlled by a 4-way thumb switch on the handle.
This super-smooth, low-resistance operation provides exceptional dexterity and tactile responsiveness, allowing operators to perform even the most delicate and demanding tasks with confidence, accuracy and minimal effort. With the Model-9 telemanipulator, Wälischmiller UK is setting a benchmark for precision, control and safety in nuclear laboratory operations.
